Susans place is a 200 bed transitional residence in Bronx, New York with onsite medical and dental care dedicated to serving mentally frail homeless women. The residents requested the theme for the mural to be "moving forward". Moving Forward is now a 70ft mural that was executed in 3 days with 15 volunteers at a time. I designed and coordinated the project for completion as part of my service for Habitat for Humanity NYC.
The mural is designed to inspire its residents to obtain independent housing, as shown through the blueprint located at the center, while following a positive path of unity and empowerment. The arrows in the background move closer together as they reach the center, for momentum.
